Attractions in Omaha, Nebraska

When people think about Omaha, Nebraska they probably think of steak and the College World Series.  Fortunately, Omaha has a lot more to offer than just beef and baseball!

For instance, Omaha houses the “Henry Doorly Zoo.”  The Henry Doorly Zoo is one of the most interactive zoos not only in the country, but in the entire world.   They have the biggest indoor desert on the planet, plenty of interesting animals (such as huge sea turtles and sharks!) and numerous other exhibits and activities.

For the avid golfers of the family, Omaha offers 17 public and semi-public courses.  With pretty rolling hills and beautiful tree lined fairways, there’s something for every skill level available and plenty of different courses to play on.

As far as dining goes, everyone knows Omaha is best known for it’s steak.  Does Omaha Steaks ring a bell?

Whether you’re looking for steak or something else, Omaha has a variety of fine dining establishments.  Some of the most popular restaurants in Omaha include:

-          Sam and Louie’s Pizzeria:  Offers authentic New York style pizza and other Italian cuisine

-          Upstream Brewing Co, Old Market:  Get a perfectly cooked and seasoned filet along with a Capitol Pale Ale

-          The Amazing Pizza Machine:  Named the Top Family Entertainment Center of the World.  They offer mini golf, bumper cars, and delicious pizza, of course

And of course, we can’t neglect to mention the College World Series which takes place in Omaha every year since 1950. The end of the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Championship takes place at the TD Ameritrade Park and is one of the most popular events all year in Omaha.

As you can see, there’s plenty to do here rather than eat steak and watch baseball!  Come check out the lovely Omaha, Nebraska and you won’t want to leave.
